Season's Proposed Schedule
About YEDA's Travel Team
YEDA's travel basketball team brings players from different communities together to compete in tournaments and games outside their area.
These teams face off against regional opponents in their grade and skill level, pushing themselves to excel on and off the court. The season includes training sessions, practices, and team-building activities during road trips to strengthen basketball skills and foster unity.
Character development is a top priority at YEDA, with coaches providing one-on-one mentorship and serving as positive role models. The program aims to enhance athleticism, promote teamwork, and instill positive character traits.

-
What is a travel team?A travel team consist of players from various communities who participate in tournaments or games outside of their immediate community.
-
What is included in the program fees?Program fees cover all practices, registration into each tournament, a practice jersey, and a team uniform. Additional team building activities vary from season to season depending on operating cost and registration fees.
-
In addition to the Travel Team fee, are there any other costs?Yes. All travel expenses for tournaments are the responsibility of the parents. Hotel costs, gas, travel, and meals while at away games are all the responsibility of the parents. As an organization, we encourage parent participation as much as possible. Children thrive in environments where their parents take an active role in extracurricular activities, such as being present at athletic games. YEDA does not provide transportation, meals, or lodging for any games. In addition, each tournament facility may require an admission fee. It can vary from $5-$25/person/day. Almost all facilities offer discounted passed for the entire weekend and/or family passes.
-
Will there be a try-out fee?Yes. A $20 Tryout fee is required for all new Travel Team players. Paying the fee does not guarantee acceptance onto the team. If your child does not get accepted onto the Travel Team, we highly recommend enrolling your child into our Developmental Basketball Team. Details available upon request.
-
How many games and practices? This are 2 practices per week and currently we are planning to play in a minimum of nine tournaments.
-
What is the difference between a training session and practice? At YEDA, we offer basketball training sessions throughout the year that are conducted by basketball trainers who are focused on developing specific basketball skills. These training sessions are not included as a part of the Travel Team and not covered by the Travel Team fees. Practices are included in the fees and will be held at a minimum of twice per week. All teammates are expected to attend all practices, arriving on time, in the practice jerseys.
-
Where can I find out more information about coaches and team rosters?View our Travel Team portal here: https://yeda.clubcentral.com/
-
Are there any fundraising opportunities to offset some of the fees/cost?Each season, we provide fundraising opportunities to help offset some of the costs of the program. Details will be provided once the season begins.

As a parent, what is my expected level of involvement? As a parent of a YEDA athlete, we encourage you to be just as committed to the team as the coaches are to your child. We expect you to serve as an example of what it takes to live with integrity, 'show up', work hard towards a goal, and be a team player. We expect all YEDA parents to: Get the child to and from practices and games in a timely manner. Take proper care of the uniform (to be returned at the end of the season). Collaborate with the coach to achieve your desired goals for your child. Take advantage of the open door policy with the coach to address any concerns that you might have. Encourage your child to advantage of the tutoring opportunities that will be made available soon. Pay the program fees as required, keeping in mind that payment plans are available (While money should not be a barrier for a child to participate, money is also required to cover the costs of operating the organization. Please reach out directly if program fees present a financial burden for you.) Attend team building activities with your child, engaging with other parents, to build team comradery. Volunteer for score keeping, fundraising, and other operational needs from time-to-time as needed, Act with integrity, honor, respect, and character, setting an example for all our youth to do the same. Abide by the YEDA Code of Conduct, review the YEDA C.O.C. with your child, and ensure compliance all season long. Supervise your child during away games, especially at the hotels. Ensure your child is abiding by the rules of the hotel, so we are welcomed back year-after-year. Provide advance notice to the coach if your child cannot attend a tournament. As a team, each player plays an integral role in the success and development of the team as a whole and coaches need time to prepare. While this list is not exhaustive, it does represent the high level of involvement we ask our parents to give. By working together as parents, coaches and organizers, we can all show our youth how invested we are into their betterment.

How do we pay for the fees? After tryouts, once you are notified of your child's acceptance onto the team, you will complete a registration form that requires your initial deposit. That form also provides the option of paying the entire fee in full. If you choose to pay only the initial deposit (effectively requesting a payment plan), an invoice will be sent to you on the additional payment plan due dates throughout the season until paid in full. Payment is required upon receipt of the invoice.
